Hardest Kind of Breakup

Although our feelings were strong,

they still say it's wrong.

We both know we love each other,

but have to get over being together.

Hurts like hell,

but hope we'll both do well.

Just remember me whenever we're afar,

we'll still be looking at the same bright star.

We Mature

People say that, "With age comes wisdom,"

but a better saying would be, "With hardship comes even more wisdom."

No one matures without a hefty amount

of psychological scarring.

All the hardships carry a meaning,

whether it's a breakup,

a painful experience

or a lifelong struggle.

The truth is that the things

that almost destroyed you

made you into who you are today.

You need a variety of life lessons

before you can become the wise,

respectable adult you should become.

You Will Never Find Me

"you will never find me." This is referring to the fact that you will never be the same two years from now or maybe even two weeks from now.  Everything is changing and we have to adapt to those things.  One day we will not be able to find who we are now in the person we are evolving into.

Sometimes, even we will run into or come across people who remind us of ourselves - not of ourselves now, but rather someone we all used to be.  We will either smile as we appreciate those qualities, or we will smile and appreciate how we changed those little things about ourselves and to be glad we do not contain those qualities anymore.

The purpose is to realize that we can search through ourselves so much and so intently but will not find our ol seves ever again.  "You will search for me in another person." You will search for your old self in your new self and fail to find that olde version of yourself.
